The BBC confirmed that the contestant wouldn’t appear on any of The Apprentice’s associated programmes going forward as a result of the inflammatory social media posts.

It is understood that the BBC took the decision to drop the former NHS doctor turned wellness business owner and aspiring online ‘guru’ from the programme after receiving complaints about his conduct from the Board of Deputies of British Jews.

The Sun previously revealed how the Sheffield-born doctor had come under fire for anti-Semitism and accusations of misogyny before the series kicked off.

In a statement, the BBC said: “We can confirm that the individual concerned will not feature as a guest on any additional BBC content relating to The Apprentice.”

The spokesperson continued: “The Apprentice: You’re Fired! is a recorded programme which is edited and broadcast as appropriate.”

Complaints had been sent to the BBC, including directly to Director General Tim Davie as well as its chairman, Samir Shah, over a social media post in which Dr. Asif made reference to a “godless, satanic cult [of Zionists]” before asking his followers: “Have you ever met even a semi-average looking Zionist? Aren’t they all odiously ogre-like?”

The BBC are understood to have discovered his shocking comments after filming on The Apprentice had completed.

His now defunct University of Masculinity website also came under fire for its controversial postings and retweeting posts by controversial influencer Andrew Tate.

In one derogatory post about women, he reportedly asked: “Have you ever met a beautiful feminist?”

While a video on his Instagram account is said to have been titled “Don’t Trust What Women Say.”

Responding before the series began to concerns about Dr. Asif’s postings, a spokesperson on behalf of The Apprentice said: “After filming had taken place, we were made aware of concerns over social media posts that Asif had made after he had left the process. As soon as we were alerted, we took immediate action and spoke to Asif in detail on this.

“Asif took part in specialised training to understand why his posts may cause offence. We are committed to providing an inclusive environment on and off screen.”

Dr. Asif also added: “I apologise for any offence caused by my online content/social media. It was not my intention to offend anyone, and I am of course open to all views. The beliefs I hold and have shared are based on the values that I was brought up with.”

Despite the specialist training, The Times reports that he continued to accuse Israel of weaponising the Holocaust to promote a fascist ideology.

A spokesperson for the campaign against Antisemitism previously blasted the BBC’s decision to include Dr. Asif in broadcast scenes, saying: “How does the BBC think that Jewish people react when they turn on the television and see someone who has engaged in the most vicious rhetoric on their national broadcaster?

“Asif Munaf has reportedly spoken of ‘the Zionist antichrist’, the ‘slimy Zionist PR machine’, ‘odiously ogre-like Zionists’, ‘Zionist doctors’, ‘weaponising the Holocaust’ and more.

“These sorts of views should usually get you fired. At the BBC, they just put you on telly.”

Director of the Board of Deputies Marie Van der Zyl also said: “The BBC’s response has been extremely poor. Our community feels as if viewing figures have been prioritised over combating hideous prejudice.

“The Corporation should publicly apologise for its mishandling of this situation.”
