I’m an Apprentice star – I didn’t win Lord Sugar’s investment but I did bag myself a wife on the show

OVER the years, The Apprentice has seen many candidates come and go, and not all of them win Lord Alan Sugar’s investment.

But despite not having luck in the boardroom, The Apprentice star Akshay Thakrar from season 16 has been lucky in love.

During his stint on the show, the businessman was fired quite early on in the process.

However, he did meet the love of his life on the hit BBC One reality show – and is now set to marry Harpreet Kau, who actually won the show.

The savvy entrepreneur bagged Alan Sugar’s life-changing £250,000 investment for her dessert parlour business, Oh So Yum.

The pair got engaged during a very romantic rooftop proposal last May, which saw Akshay get down on one knee on a bed of roses.

The engagement took place on a beautiful evening with London as their backdrop, and sparklers went off as the question was popped.

Taking to social media to reveal their very exciting news, the pair penned: “I would find you in any lifetime.

“Our journey began in the most unexpected way. Now it’s time to begin our forever chapter.

“She said yes.”

Fellow Apprentice stars rushed to the comments, with Kathryn Burn writing: “LET’S START PLANNING THE WEDDING OF THE CENTURY.”

Rochelle Anthony, 2023 runner-up, commented: “CONGRATS” and fellow 2022 finalist Brittany Carter penned: ‘I AM LITERALLY IN TEARS. I am so happy for you both this is just the best thing to ever happen. CONGRATULATIONS.”

The happy couple will wed in June this year.

Speaking about wedding plans now, Harpreet revealed she had recruited fellow The Apprentice finalist Kathryn Burn to play an important role.

Speaking to Yahoo, she said: “My best friend is Kathryn, the finalist, she’s going to be my bridesmaid as well. I’ve got a best friend, husband and an investment out of The Apprentice.”

Harpreet added: “Because it’s a big fat Indian wedding: there’s a number of days to plan and a number of outfits I need to plan.

“I’ve just finally ordered dress number one which I’m really excited for. We’re trying to keep it quite an intimate do, which is very difficult when you’re Indian, but we’re really looking forward to it.
